As the ancient capital of England, Winchester is brimming with historic sights, most famously its eleventh century Cathedral and Architecture, as well as the legendary Round Table of King Arthur fame. Lining the cobbled streets, are an abundance of shops restaurants, pubs and art galleries, all combining to create a lively and unique city. Ideally located less than one hour from London by train or car, and just 15 minutes from Southampton Airport, Winchester is an ideal conference, wedding or event location.

Rooms Description

The University of Winchester has nearly 1000 rooms and offers a range of accommodation to suit many groups during the summer months- including B&B, full board and self catering. The majority of our rooms are single and guests have the choice between traditional halls of residence on the King Alfred Campus or slightly more modern accommodation on the West Downs site. The King Alfred Campus has three traditional halls of residence with shared shower and toilet facilities. Kitchenettes with tea and coffee making facilities are also shared. The West Downs Campus has a combination of standard and en-suite houses with six and eight bedrooms. Each house is complete with its kitchen, allowing you to self cater if you wish. Linen is provided in all bedrooms, along with one medium sized towel.

Along with summer accommodation, the University of Winchester is also available as a venue for any type of celebration - from a private dinner for anniversaries and birthdays to lavish parties for weddings. Whether your party is for 50 or 200 guests, our dedicated conference team are on hand to assist with the organisation and smooth running of your event. The University has an established reputation for conferences and events and can accommodate events for up to 320 delegates with accommodation, syndicate rooms, IT suites and exhibition space also available.
