Southampton Airport Eastleigh Flights to Travel from Southampton

Southampton Airport is a useful travel point on the south coast. The Airport links several UK destinations including those in Scotland, Ireland and mainland England. In addition, a good choice of European flights is available to counties including France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Austria and Switzerland. There are also flights to Jersey and Guernsey on the Channel Islands.

Southampton Airport is easy to reach by public transport with a train station serving the airport which links through to London and the South East. There are also good links to the Hampshire towns east of the airport and along the Hampshire coast.

Southampton International Airport Tourist Information

Southampton Airport is located outside the city between Eastleigh and Southampton, just off the M27 motorway at junction 5. The postcode for satellite navigation is SO18 2NL.

There is also an excellent rail link to Southampton Airport. Southampton Airport (Parkway) station is just 67 minutes from central London on the fastest rail link from where you can pick up connections to the rest of the country. There are good rail links throughout Hampshire from the airport stopping off at the main towns particularly along the coast. Buses run regular services from the airport to Southampton city centre which is only around 40 minutes away. Check the Southampton Airport website for downloadable train and bus route maps.

Flights fly from Southampton to over forty destinations in the UK, Channel Islands and Europe. UK flights include Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, Manchester, Leeds, the Isle of Man and the Isles of Scilly. European destination countries include France, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Germnay, Ireland, Austria and Lapland in the winter. Destinations are great for city breaks at Paris, Dublin, Brussels and Amsterdam or for summer and winter holidays.

Despite there being good ferry links along the Hampshire coast an alternative is to fly from Southampton Airport to Jersey or Guernsey in the Channel Islands.

Southampton Airport Car Parking

If you're journey is less than 24 hours, there is a short stay car park next to the terminal at Southampton Airport. If you're just dropping off passengers then there is a drop-off point at the terminal forecourt but waiting is no longer permitted for security reasons. If you're picking up passengers it's better to use the short stay car park as you will not be able to leave your car outside the terminal.

If you need a long stay car park there is one at Southampton Airport from which a courtesy bus will take you back to the terminal.

You can also pick up car hire at the airport from a variety of international car hire operators. The car hire reception centre is opposite the terminal building, next to the short stay car park.

Southampton Airport Facilities

Southampton Airport is well equipped with a range of facilities including Bureau de Change, cash dispensers, public telephones, cafes and restaurants.

There are also duty free shops both before the security check points and once you're through.

There are facilities for disabled flyers including wheelchairs, toilets and a lift to the viewing gallery and reserved seating areas in the airport. If you need to make additional arrangements you need to do this through your airline prior to departure. Inductions loops are available throughout the airport and guide dogs and hearing dogs are permitted into the airport.
