The Mayflower Theatre just along from the City Art Gallery is where you can watch the latest West End musicals on tour. The Nuffield Theatre

The Nuffield Theatre, within the University buildings north of the city centre, is renowned for its award winning independent productions. It also attracts the best national and international touring companies to put on a full production list throughout the year.

There is a cafe bar on site for light meals and snacks as well as pre-show tapas in the evenings.

The Guildhall Southampton

The Guildhall is the largest entertainment venue in the south. It has hosted a huge array of world famous chart musicians including David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Manic Street Preachers and The Killers and regularly has a full programme of concerts and events. It's handily located right near the city centre and close to a good choice of bars and restaurants. It also hosts exhibitions, dinner dances or even wedding receptions.

Cinemas in Southampton

Southampton has well served with cinemas.

Over to the south west of the city centre is the Odeon. It's a 13 screen cinema on the Leisure World complex opposite West Quay shopping centre with plenty of free parking. Down at Ocean Village to the east of the city centre is Cineworld. It's located at Ocean Village where there are several bars and restaurants set around a marina. The cinema has a licensed bar and serves up light snacks. There's also free parking after 6pm.
