Beaulieu Tourist Information New Forest Hampshire

The Beaulieu Estate covers 7000 acres on the south eastern edge of the New Forest National Park. The village of Beaulieu (pronounced Beauly) lies on the banks of the Beaulieu River and is a traditional village that has changed little over the years. It's a pleasant place to visit with a selection of shops, tearooms and pubs.

The river is very picturesque and you can pick up kayaks to hire from the village or take the riverside walk down to Buckler's Hard for charter river trips.

Beaulieu Tourist Information

Beaulieu is an historic village within the New Forest National Park set on the banks of the Beaulieu River. Today it makes a great pit stop on your way around the New Forest. The village has several refreshment choices including cafes, a bakery, delicatessen and hotel bars. The local shops are not only a handy stop off for local customers and visitors alike but the local ponies and donkeys can often been seen meeting up outside!

There's one main pay and display car park in the village where you can find public toilets. This is one of the New Forest car parks where you can buy a clock from the New Forest Visitor Centres to cover your stay which is easier than trying to carry sufficient change on your visit.

Beaulieu is also the location for the horse fair that takes place six times every year. It takes place outside of the village on the B3056 between Beaulieu and Denny Bridge as you head out onto the heathland commons. You'll find the traditional corrals made of wood next to the car park. The railway stops here at Beaulieu rail station which gives you easy access to walks on the heathlands in this area. This is also a great place to see the New Forest ponies and traditional breed cattle roaming the commons.
